Research and development are an integral part of Lactosan and contribute for 25 years to the continuous improvement of processes. More than 15% of Lactosan’s employees are working in the field of R&D. A group with focus on microbiology deals with the isolation and characterisation of new strains. The process technique group performs fundamental test series to validate the feasibility of processes, which can be optimised up to model productions, if necessary.
The technical centre completely replicates Lactosan’s manufacturing lines of production (fermentation, separation, ultrafiltration, homogenisation, freeze-drying, coating in the fluidised bed dryer). According to our experience everything, which has been developed in the technical centre, can also be successfully implemented in production.
Lactosan offers also development on order. The scope ranges from single tests up to the comprehensive development of products.
